Bottle Refusal Consult

Whether you’re easing into bottle feeding for the first time or preparing to return to work, Milk+Honey Lactation & Infant Feeding is here to guide you with compassion, knowledge, and holistic care. Our IBCLCs and certified feeding specialists take a whole-person approach — looking at your baby’s oral function, your milk supply and pumping routine, and your emotional well-being. Because feeding isn’t just about bottles and ounces — it’s about connection, confidence, and care.

We support families across Delaware, the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Philadelphia, and the Washington, D.C. area, as well as virtually everywhere. Whether you’re introducing bottles, navigating bottle refusal, easing tummy troubles, or balancing feeding during your return to work, we’re here to help you feed your baby with confidence and peace of mind.

Our bottle-feeding services include:
• Helping you choose the right bottle and nipple for your baby’s unique needs
• Teaching paced bottle feeding for a calm, responsive feeding rhythm
• Supporting milk supply while balancing breast, bottle, and pumping
• Creating realistic feeding and pumping schedules for working parents

For working families, our team provides gentle, practical support for the return-to-work transition — helping you protect your supply, plan your pumping sessions, and feel emotionally and physically prepared for this new rhythm. Whether your baby receives expressed breastmilk, formula, or both, we help you find what works best for your family — no guilt, no pressure.

You can visit us in person at our warm, welcoming offices in Camden, Middletown, Wilmington, and Easton, Maryland, or meet with one of our IBCLCs virtually from anywhere. Families throughout Delaware, Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Philadelphia, and D.C. trust Milk+Honey for inclusive, whole-body infant feeding support that truly meets them where they are.

At Milk+Honey, we believe how your baby is fed matters — but how you feel while feeding matters most. Let us help you make every bottle a moment of calm, connection, and confidence.

Virtual Intake

Every feeding journey deserves intentional, personalized care—and that begins here. Our Virtual Postpartum Intake Visit is the first step for all new families planning to see us in-office or in-home for lactation support.

This initial online visit allows us to get to know you, your baby, and your feeding story before your hands-on appointment. We’ll take time to “meet each other,” review your birth and feeding history, and gather important background details so your lactation consultant knows exactly what to bring or how to prepare for your in-person visit.

By completing this step first, we ensure that your 90-minute follow-up appointment is fully focused on assessment, troubleshooting, and hands-on care—no time wasted on intake paperwork or basic background questions. Together, you and your lactation consultant will collaborate to schedule your in-person visit at the end of this session.

At Milk+Honey Lactation & Infant Feeding, we believe that thoughtful preparation creates better outcomes. This appointment sets the foundation for informed, connected, and compassionate care that truly supports you and your baby.

Follow-up visits offered in Camden, Middletown, and Wilmington, Delaware, as well as Easton, Maryland

Prenatal

At Milk+Honey Lactation & Infant Feeding, we believe feeding education begins before your baby arrives. Our prenatal lactation consultations are designed to prepare you with confidence, knowledge, and hands-on guidance for the early days of feeding—because a smooth start often begins with the right support.

Whether this is your first baby or you’re hoping for a different experience this time around, our team of Certified Breastfeeding Specialists and IBCLCs provides compassionate, evidence-based prenatal care to help you feel ready and supported. We’ll walk you through what to expect in the first hours and weeks after birth, teach you how to recognize hunger cues, and explain how milk production really works. You’ll leave understanding what a deep latch looks and feels like, how to know your baby is transferring milk effectively, and what’s normal (and what’s not) when it comes to newborn feeding patterns.

We also offer education for families planning to pump, bottle feed, or return to work, including guidance on flange sizing, milk storage, paced bottle feeding, and creating a healthy pumping routine that supports your supply and goals.

Our prenatal sessions can be booked in-office or virtually, so you can prepare from the comfort of your home—no matter where you’re located. Each visit is personalized to your unique situation, birth plan, and feeding preferences.

At Milk+Honey, our approach is holistic, gentle, and realistic. We understand that every journey looks different, and our goal is to empower you with knowledge and support, not pressure. Feeding your baby should feel peaceful and informed, and we’re here to make sure it does.
