What will I learn in a prenatal consultation?

In this visit, your lactation consultant will walk you through what to expect in the early days, help you understand milk production, positioning, and latch, and answer all your questions about pumping, bottle prep, or supplementing if needed.
You’ll leave feeling calm, confident, and ready to start your feeding journey with support already in place.
How do I schedule?

Prenatal visits can be done virtually or in person—whichever feels right for you. Meeting before baby arrives gives us time to understand your goals, answer your questions, and make sure you feel confident and supported when feeding begins.

How far along should I be before scheduling?
​
Ideally we like to see you between 26-30 weeks for your first prenatal.
If you are over 30 weeks, schedule your prenatal for the soonest available appointment that works for you.
Are you inducing lactation for your baby?
Is your partner pregnant and you'd like to breastfeed as well?
Are you having a baby via a surrogate and you'd like to breastfeed for your baby? This appointment is for you!

Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (all plans), Independence BCBS, Horizon, Anthem, United Healthcare, Cigna, Tricare, Johns Hopkins USFHP, GEHA, UMR, Meritain, Integra, Claims Bridge, and First Health Network.

If you’re not covered by one of these plans, we also offer a discounted self-pay rate to ensure our care remains accessible
